With beaches that are frequently included in top 10 lists of America's most beautiful beaches, the rest of the attractions in the St. Petersburg and Tampa area are perhaps overshadowed. Ybor City, a National Historic Landmark District, is Tampa's Latin Quarter, full of lively nightclubs, shops, restaurants, and cigar shops.

The new Centro Ybor Entertainment Complex brings a 20-screen Muvico Movie Theater, the exciting Sega GameWorks - a high-tech interactive video game room, designed by Steven Speilberg - restaurants, shops, and a Museum and Visitors Center. The areas several worldclass museums including The Florida Holocaust Museum, The Florida International Museum, The Henry Plant Museum, The Salvador Dali Museum, The Museum of Fine Arts, and the Tampa Museum of Fine Arts share the spotlight with the areas attractions.

From the spirit of Africa at Busch Gardens, to close encounters with manatees at the Florida Aquarium, to IMAX at The MOSI Science Center, the area's attractions are full of thrills and adventures. This spring, Busch Gardens will open an off-road safari river adventure and competition that ends with a raging river thrill ride at the new Rhino Rally.

The area also offers a multitude of outdoor activities like golfing, kayaking, fishing cruises, and walking the Friendship Trail Bridge, a 2.6 mile walkway over Tampa Bay.

Downtown St. Petersburg is a "movie set" city where lush waterfront parks, palm trees, red-tiled Mediterranean towers frame the vast and picturesque Tampa Bay. Jetting into Tampa Bay, The Pier a landmark 5 story inverted pyamid houses shopping, dining, water activities,an aquarium and the Great Exlporations Museum. In addition to fine museums, St. Petersburg's downtown streets are full of boutiques, art galleries, antique shops, specialty stores, and many great eateries. An exciting addition to the lively downtown area is the open-air BayWalk Entertainment Complex (pictured left), where shopping entertainment and dining venues surround beautiful courtyards with fountains and outdoor seating areas. An exciting resort-like atmosphere fills St. Pete Beach where the beautiful wide beaches are lined with hotels and beach shops. In contrast to the lively Clearwater and St. Petersburg Beach, the splendidly natural beaches at Fort DeSoto Park, Sand Key, Caladesi Island, and Honeymoon Island are pristine spots to get away from it all.
