The charms of Portugal mingle with a burgeoning Las Vegas scene in Macau,
a peninsula on the southeastern coast of China, where the new Wynn Macau resort
recently feted its grand opening. A golden reflective wall of colossal proportions,
the 600-room hotel is a lavish oasis of deluxe entertainment, punctuated by
an exterior performance fountain of explosive water and fire that is choreographed
to dynamic music and lighting.
The accommodations offer all modern luxuries and range from deluxe rooms
with fine Italian linens and serene soaking tubs to the colorful Sky Suites
on the upper most floors, complete with 24-hour butler service, his and hers
bath and dressing areas, separate media and dining rooms, and a private in-room
spa therapy suite. A luxurious spa and salon provide every imaginable pampering
treat, while there are two heated tropical pools set amid lush foliage.
No Wynn property would be fully accomplished without a casino and this one
delivers with a limitless variety of games from traditional blackjack to several
types of baccarat. Spending your winnings is of course effortless, with the
resort hosting a parade of designer shops from Chanel and Louis Vuitton to
Bulgari and Prada.
Because Macau was under Portuguese administration for nearly 400 years,
local cuisine is accentuated by Portuguese, European and Asian flavors, and
is known as a major dinning destination in China. The Wynn offers these gastronomical
delights at several of their fine dinning restaurants, including Okada, Wing
Lei and Ristorante Il Teatro.
Finally, top off the evening with a visit to Tryst. Known as an “ultra
lounge,” this boldly red and pulsating club offers equally passionate
music and cocktails for a night and/or morning of dancing. The Wynn Macau
brings a new level of luxury to this fascinating destination. Click here for
